See You At The Pole™
 | The forth Wednesday morning of every September is an early one for many students across the nation. Before the first bell rings signaling the start of another day, students gather around their schools' flagpoles to pray for our nation, their friends, family and schools. At LIYFC we encourage students to get involved in this awesome movement. It is a great way to meet other Christian students and stand up for your faith. West Islip High School – 8 Students
"West Islip had about 8 students at the pole. It went quick and smoothly. My son arrived early and was worried he would be the only student. Then another boy joined him and then another larger group. Mr. Dean and his wife were sitting quietly near by and I sat in my car praying. It is so neat to see the kids stand up for Christ. Not far away from the pole is where the kids hang out smoking before school. It was cool to see the contrast and that the light of Christ is represented in the West Islip High School. This was my son's first time at the pole and he has been asked to share his experience with the kids at our youth group this Friday night."

Division Avenue High School – 12 Students
“Division had 12 students. Leader told me there was good enthusiasm among those that went.”
Syosset High School – 35 Students
“ Syosset had 35 students, 3 teachers, and they did 4 worship songs...Lots of exposure to those going by, great morning.”
Eastport South Manor Junior/Senior High School – 10 Students
A couple of our students led it up, and they told me there were about 10 students there.

Herbert Middle School – 1 Student
“I also had one student report that he and his mom (a teacher) were the only 2 at Herbert Middle School in Malverne. I wish I had realized that it was right across the street from Malverne; I'd have gone and joined them.”

Lindenhurst High School – A Few Students
We only had a few at Lindenhurst High School, which remains a tough school to impact. However, we received no resistance whatsoever. There are a lot of students that attend the Middle School and High School. The Lindenhurst area is very resistant to any form of Christian involvement, but we need to reach these students somehow and share Christ. I envision a huge crowd at the flag pole at Lindenhurst in a couple of years! I will be working with my junior who is now spear heading the Bible club movement to see how we can build a foundation of Christianity through the club.

Malverne High School – 0 Students
“One of my students said that he was going to be out at Malverne High with a friend but he was a no-show so I sat outside Malverne High School overlooking an empty flagpole and prayed for the school full of empty students. It's easy to get discouraged in moments like these (and no doubt give Satan a foothold in our ministry) but as I prayed the Lord reminded me that it only takes a small spark to set the church ablaze! I began to pray that God would raise up even one student sold out for Him to ignite a movement in Malverne High and our other area schools; I can't wait to see what God has in store!”

Riverhead High School – 20 Students
"Riverhead had about 20 students. This year they did only students no adults. I was really proud of them."

Schreiber High School – 20 Students
"Schreiber had 20 students. A few students lead the group about different things to pray for and a few prayed out. They also broke into small groups to pray for each other. Very cool."

West Babylon High School – 10 Students
"We had four girls lead the prayer initiative at West Babylon High School at 6:30 am. When I left at 7:00 am, more students outside of my youth group came from the buses to the flag pole. They probably had 10 or so students show up which is really encouraging. Good things should be happening at West Babylon as I have several younger students who have at least 3 years or so to impact and build a strong Bible Club and Christian foundation at their school."
