Pia WyssHi I'm Pia Wyss from the Port Washington Campus Life program. I've been a part of CL here for the past 8 years, since fourth grade. I started CL2 a little earlier than I should have with my cousin but it was awesome and I was welcomed with open arms. I was in CL2 for four years then moved to the high school CL where I was soon able to become a student leader for the current middle school students. Being able to impact the students' lives as much as mine was shaped by my leaders was such a phenomenal and rewarding experience, and still is. On trips during the year, my relationship with Jesus has grown so much, and I've learned how to keep it strong during the year with all the stuff going on weekly at CL. I gave my life to Christ at the JV camp through YFC in the summer of 2007. It is still strong to this day and gets stronger with every day. Being a student leader for CL2 gave me the opportunity to go back to the JV camp that I surrendered myself and work with the students as a leader. One thing I will never forget is the night that the option to give your life to Jesus was offered by Gary Grecco, our speaker for the week, and he didn't do a regular altar call. Rather, he gave every student an envelope, paper and a pencil and they all spread out on the field, overlooking the mountains of Pennsylvania at sunset, writing letters to our God. I looked over to my girls and they had tears in their eyes as they did this. Our cabin talk that night was different than the previous, it was full of their new and desperate hunger to know Christ. The Lord put me in CL for many reasons, especially to know Him more and spread His word to others. Knowing Jesus has impacted my life for the better. If you knew me before this relationship and now during it, you'll see that I've been completely transformed from what I was into what I am. God has worked wonders in my life and will continue to until I am able to be with Him again for eternity. |
