Prayer Letter
July 2007
Dear Friends and Family,
I have heard that for a teacher, seeing an “ah-ha” moment for a student you teach, is priceless and it makes all the work and effort worth it.
At Campus Life this week I saw two students “get it” and I was blown away!
We were talking about purpose. I wanted to end the school year giving the students hope and letting them know that God has a purpose for each and everyone of them. What came out of it was more than I could have ever imagined.
One of my students asked a question about finding your soul mate, and expressed how he wanted to know if God had someone out there for him. Two other students (one who is a new Christian) raised their hands and wanted to help answer the question. I sat back, watched, and listened as these two teenagers spoke from their hearts about the Lord and how God has a plan and purpose for him. They told this student that everything happens in God’s time, and that we need to let go of what we think is best for us, and let God show us and lead us.
It was amazing to see these students teach each other what I was teaching them all year, and they talked to their peers about questions they have in their own lives. They went on talking about patience and how God will answer prayers. It might take some time. It might not be the way we want it to be, but Gods way is always best.
It was an “ah-ha” for these two students responding to their friend, and it was a much needed “ah-ha” for me, knowing that the students do listen and take to heart what I teach them.
Little did these students know that they were ministering to me as well! They reminded me that even though I want to see results in these students right away, I need to be patient and wait. I am so thankful for them and proud that God is working in and through them! Pray for my students this month to hold on to what they learn at Campus Life and that they would grow spiritually this summer.
In Him,
