Prayer Letter
September 2007
Dear YFC Supporter:
A few years ago my son and I hiked up a steep river bed filled with rocks. There wasn’t a level place to walk for more than a half a mile. We were drenched with perspiration and tempted to stop, but someone told us there was a waterfall at the end of the trail.
It was true. I’ll never forget swimming in the cool, refreshing pool as the water streamed over a 60 foot cliff. The hike was challenging, but the reward was worth it.
I’ve been living under a special waterfall this summer. The past two months God has poured out so many blessings on YFC and our staff team. Here’s just a sample:
• Over 50 young people responded to Christ during the summer camps and programs.
• A thank you letter to Stephanie Bambino from a mother who can’t believe the change in her teenage daughter after a week at camp with YFC.
• Craig Muller sees his young men growing deeper with Christ as they start to understand the work of the Holy Spirit in them----giving them power to change.
• Emilie Lamoureux is still amazed by selfless service of the teenage mission team to Belize as they built homes and taught summer school for children.
• Last Saturday the YFC parking lot was filled with 40 young men playing basketball. The local police were impressed and commended James Leon for getting so many kids involved. During the day Jon Bernor spoke to these young men about following Christ, instead of the drug culture and violence of the streets.
• We stayed dry at YFC Golf Outing while the rest of L.I. got wet. The predicted rain and thunderstorms went right around us. Everyone at the golf club could not believe it.
• My wife Becky continues to get stronger and healthier every week.
• The new Prodigal House ministry is touching the hearts of many people. There are still plenty of challenges but it is clear that God is leading us into this new ministry.
Join with YFC this month in prayer and giving as school starts this week. We have more student leaders than ever in prepared to lead clubs and meetings on their school campus.
Stand (and kneel) with the YFC team during September as we bring Christ to kids.
