The first thing that comes to mind about my Campus Life days is simply making great friends from all different high schools in the area—laughing and learning a lot about myself in a safe environment. I didn't have difficult teen years and I think that's largely due to the amazing support from my Campus Life friend and leaders. The other obvious memories for me are the Campus Life bike trips. My bike trip leader, Tom Friedrichs taught me that biking is only like 40% physical and 60% mental. I have taken that simple fact to lead me to success in so many areas of my life. Through meeting other people who lived a life of following Jesus, I learned the freedom that Jesus gave me—to be who God created me to be. I grew up in a church that was all about Bible memorization (not that it's bad) and rules. Through Campus Life I learned about the freedom and grace through Jesus' sacrifice. I didn't get this through a meeting, or one of Jack's talks :) but through watching people. Watching them live as people guided by the Holy Spirit and walking in God's love. I am still living on Strong Island! I am happily married since 2007 to Matthew Carlino—worth waiting for the right person. We are involved in C3 church in Huntington, NY (www.c3churchli.com) where we continue to help build the kingdom of God in many different ways.
