I’m going to be a senior at Schreiber High School. I’m very dedicated and passionate about dance, so I spend a lot of my time after school at my dance studio. I work there during the week and then spend my weekends dancing in the city, babysitting, and going to church with my family. My best friend brought me to Campus Life 2 when I was in 6th grade. I’ve been involved with YFC since then. I always attend the snowboarding trip, Avalanche, in February. That’s my favorite trip. I absolutely love it. This trip brings us all together for a week and we all just have a lot of fun. We make new friends and strengthen friendships we already have. Every year, on this trip, the teachings about God are awesome and have really helped me understand things better and have made my faith a lot stronger. All of the leaders are so amazing. They’re not only leading and putting together a Christian group for us, but they’re also there as friends and mentors. You can talk to any one of them about anything, and they will always be there to listen and help you. They’re just really genuine people to be around and you know you’re always guaranteed a good time when you’re with them. All the things you learn from them just make you want to be a better person and live a life with God. They show you that being happy and loving life doesn’t have to come from big, extravagant things. One of my leaders told us once “I love the simple things.” Being involved with YFC really has strengthened my relationship with God and has made my faith stronger. The messages that are given to us are delivered in such a simple, but very meaningful way and it really makes you think about things. Knowing Jesus Christ makes me feel loved. You know there’s someone there who loves you no matter what and isn’t there to judge you at all. He’s there to help you and he wants to give you the best life possible. I know I can always turn to him for help and he makes me a strong person. When there’s so much pressure from the world, you have to be so passionate and grounded on what you believe in, and that’s what he helps me do. I’ve had countless amounts of experiences with YFC that I will never forget. It’s where I met my best friends, learned to snowboard, learned how to be happy with such simple things, and strengthened my relationship with God. Oh, and we have an awesome praise team! They are some of the most talented musicians I’ve ever seen. They’re awesome. |
